Whereas yesterday the number of faith commitments to protect the living planet was 30, today we saw many more firm commitments to create action plans or to work more deeply with the faiths on environment issues than even we could possibly have hoped for. They came from the Maronites in Lebanon through a commitment by Patriarch Sfeir; the Orthodox in Russia, expressed by Archbishop Hilarion; the Buddhists in Cambodia; Eco-congregations in Scotland; the Buddhists in Mongolia led by the Khampo Lama, the British Council, and of course from our partner in creating the Windsor celebration, UNDP.

Castle was transformed for the day into a theatre - a stage on which
HRH Prince Philip and HE Mr Ban Ki-moon honoured 30 faith commitments
to environmental action, and then a theatre in which through
performance, prayer and music in a darkened room, the faiths expressed
what could not be expressed in speeches and words and powerpoints,
about the power of Creation. RSC Director Philip Breen created an
atmosphere of wonder and beauty, manifested by the performers, whose
